Mr. Emmanuel Bensah is the Deputy Executive Director of Afcfta Policy Network, and an ECOWAS and AU Policy Analyst with cumulative experience of the African Union, ECOWAS, UNECA, OECD and the Sahel West Africa Club. He has been a member of the Agenda 2063 Media Network since 2017, and of the African Peer Review Mechanism Communicator’s Network since May 2019. Emmanuel has an M.A. in International Politics (2003), from the renowned Brussels-based Centre Européen de Récherche Internationales et Stratégiques and has UN certification in Regional Trade (2011); Continental Free Trade Area (2012); and acquired a UNITAR/ECOWAS certificate on Multilateral Trade Negotiations in 2015.

Since 2016, Emmanuel has moderated at international conferences, including AU’s Regional Youth Consultation in Abuja in 2017; NEPAD’s Africa Environment Partnership Programme (AEPP) in Nairobi; and in Dakar, where he moderated a session on “Institutional Architecture of the African Continental Free Trade Area” (#AfCFTA) at a Stakeholder’s Forum for Private Sector and Civil Society in November 2018. In November 2019, Emmanuel moderated the Second Edition of the Arusha Symposium, which focused on AfCFTA and the AU’s Free Movement of People Protocol. In January 2020, Emmanuel started hosting Agenda2063 TV Series on the Association of African Universities TV. In October 2020, Emmanuel co-hosted “Trade Africa” on Asaase Radio 99.5FM in Accra. Emmanuel is bilingual having lived his formative years in Brussels, Belgium.
