Born and Raised in Kenya, Godwin started his performing arts career at a young age through school Cultural festivals and dance competitions. Eventually in year 2009, he started professional training in various forms of dance under the Youth Accosted With Arts program (YAWA) in Kisumu, Kenya.

​Shortly after, YAWA Dance Company was formed and made it’s first appearance with a successful performance in Bayimba Festival of Arts, in Kampala, Uganda. During his journey with YAWA Dance Company, Godwin was later promoted into the Associate of the Artistic Director.

He later underwent series of dance seminars organized by Dance Into Space (DIS), Godown Arts Centre, Kenya Perfoming arts Group Company, Amizero compagnie and Ecole de Sables all of which allowed him to deepen his understanding of improvisational techniques and didactics.

​His career as a performing artist got more wind under it’s wings on 2012, as he went on to perform on a tour around Tanzania as part of the project ’Umoja Flying Carpet‘. The project brought together various artists from East Africa, Norway and Netherlands. He then went on to join Danceteam International franchise of which he visited Finland for in 2017 for a project and has been a major part of since. Danceteam is an international dance community with branches in various countries such as UK, Germany, Finland and more.

Along the years, he has also worked with several different dance companies and Choreographers, including Sarakasi Kenya,Danceteam Africa, Netherlands based Het Internationaal Danstheater in Amsterdam ,Amizero Compagnie from Rwanda and Tero Saarinen Company based in Helsinki, Finland. Godwin has been part of various festivals in Eastern Africa such as East Africa Nights of Tolerance, Time 2 Dance, Bayimba Festival ,Sawa Sawa Festival both as performer and as a choreographer.
